Cars and Coffee and … Karting?

Cars and Coffee events exist all over DC. Each has a different flavor – Katie’s has loads of exotics (and the occasional spectacular crash of a new $300,000 exotic). Hollin Hall has a steady group of classics at their Alexandria event. For those who like to travel, there’s Hunt Valley Horsepower in Maryland that sponsors an Formula 3 driver! These events are great for showing off your car, enjoying other great cars, and imbibing your morning joe with other car enthusiasts.

But what if there were an event where you could drive, even race? Enter our inaugural Cars, Coffee, & Karting at the newly opened Summit Point Kart at DC’s RFK Stadium on July 15th!

Members picked up cars at our garage in Arlingtonand caravaned to RFK. Over 100 cars and drivers showed up to hang out, enjoy free coffee and doughnuts, and get early-bird access to the karting track. Summit Point Kart opened up at 7am so these early risers could get on track while it was still cool.

If you haven’t been yet, Summit Point Kart is real racing. Based on the European model for training apprentice race car drivers, Summit Point Kart provides an intense, thrilling, challenging driving experience. Everyone starts on Track A, and you have to qualify to move to the harder, longer tracks B and C.

We had so much fun, we plan to make it a regular event for us, so join us next time!
